Second Glance

'GIVENCHY ...

... is the result of an interaction of phenomena which are atypical.'

Creative Director and designer Riccardo Tisci has certainly proved this declaration - which is the official statement used by House of Givenchy to describe him - true.

The maestro has casted a transgendered model, Lea T (formerly known as Leo), for this year's Fall/Winter campaign. The model, who is "part of the family", use to be a fitting model of his own line as well as his personal assistant. Explaining his decision on this controversial casting, Tisci states that Lea "exemplifies the masculine-feminine dichotomy" of his signature design aesthetic.

I smell fashion taking yet another step forward.
